EPHESIANS 2:4–7 (ESV)

4 But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, 5 even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved— 6 and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, 7 so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.
Pastor's Note
I love these verses. They are so rich! It speaks to the transgressor as a dead man. A decaying, lifeless body that can do nothing except rot on its own. Yet, based on the love of God and His amazing mercy, He makes us alive in Christ. Paul uses past tense terms “He raised us up with Christ and seated us with Him.” To raise means “to waken.” This is what He has done for us! We were dead yet now we are alive, seated with Him in the heavenly places…not only is our eternal destination with the Lord, Paul uses the language to demonstrate that we, as born again believers, experience the present reality of being “seated” with Him now…wow! What an amazing statement. Have an wonderful and blessed day with the Lord.
Tell lost folks how dead people can be made alive…preach the gospel of grace!
Praying for you always
